Abstract

Objective: To analyze the perception of pharmacy retail managers regarding the provision of primary healthcare services. Methods: This is a prospective, exploratory, multiple case study with a qualitative approach. 347 responses were collected from managers (managers, pharmacists, and pharmacy managers) through electronic forms, addressing their perception of the pharmaceutical services that support primary healthcare. Data collection took place between April and October 2024. Results: The 347 responses highlighted the pharmaceutical services offered by the main retail chain in Latin America, as well as the managers' perceptions of future service opportunities and public-private partnerships. Conclusion: It was concluded that since 2014, with Law No. 13.021, pharmacies have been recognized as healthcare establishments. Managers' perceptions reveal the potential of pharmacies beyond the sale of medicines and convenience, highlighting a variety of low-complexity services that can meet the demands of primary health care, offering the population an effective alternative for access to dignified and quality health care.\
