Abstract

Objective: To analyze the relationship between maternal and gestational variables with malformations in live births in the state of Mato Grosso. Methods: Cross-sectional, analytical study of data made available in the Information System on Live Births, from 2015 to 2019 in Mato Grosso. Results: 1852 births with malformations were reported and when performing the bivariate analysis, a higher occurrence of anomalies was seen in children of pregnant women in the age group at gestational risk; among those born to single/separated/widowed mothers and who have had children who died in other pregnancies. As for the factors related to the child, those born with prematurity and who were twins were associated. Children born in agribusiness regions were also positively associated with a higher occurrence of malformation, while regions with low HDI were considered a protective factor for the occurrence of these anomalies. Conclusion: Mothers who lived in agribusiness regions had a higher occurrence of congenital malformations in relation to the others.
