Síndrome da dor patelofemoral: um estudo sob ampla perspectiva

Resumo
Objetivo: Compilar os dados colhidos acerca da Síndrome da Dor Patelofemoral (SDPF) de forma a facilitar a busca de informações sobre o assunto. Revisão bibliográfica: A SDPF é uma queixa muito comum no consultório médico, caracterizada por uma dor na região anterior do joelho, desencadeada ou exacerbada por sobrecarga. Pode cronificar e dificultar a realização de atividades básicas do paciente e a prática de atividade física, mais incidente entre os adolescentes e indivíduos de meia idade e mais prevalente em mulheres, possui demora no diagnóstico. A melhor forma de prevenir a síndrome é identificar os fatores de risco modificáveis e intervir precocemente por meio de fortalecimento muscular de membros inferiores. Considerações finais: O tratamento deve ser individualizado e mantido por longos períodos em razão dos altos índices de recorrência e cronicidade, de forma a melhorar a qualidade de vida do paciente devido o impacto nas atividades rotineiras ocasionado pela patologia.
