Resumo

Objetivo: Analisar e discutir o os aspectos do Transtorno de Jogos pela Internet no Brasil. Revisão bibliográfica: A indústria de jogos consiste em realidade ao mercado do entretenimento, abrangendo públicos diversos, especialmente pelo desenvolvimento de novas tecnologias e diferentes formas de interação social que adicionam novas variáveis ao uso dos jogos eletrônicos. Nesse contexto, insere-se o Transtorno de jogos pela internet, cuja prevalência verificada no Brasil foi maior entre jovens com uso problemático de videogame quando comparada à média mundial. Os fatores associados destacam o gênero masculino, tipo de jogo utilizado, número de horas jogadas, e presença de transtorno mental prévio. Durante a pandemia da COVID-19, foi observado aumento da prevalência, com maior tempo gasto em atividades on-line e jogos como mecanismo de enfrentamento. A principal abordagem descrita em literatura é a terapia cognitivo comportamental, com heterogeneidade de técnicas relatadas como eficazes. Considerações finais: Estudos da relação da saúde mental com diferentes tipos de jogos são necessários para dimensionar o impacto que a crescente indústria de jogos on-line pode trazer para a atual e futuras gerações, com discussões em âmbito público, a fim de regulamentação que evitem prejuízos à qualidade de vida dessa população.
