Abstract
Objective: To present, review and avoid adversities related to the development of the maxillomandibular relationship, as well as to relate indications where the patient's economic power is taken into account, involving the functional and aesthetic stage. Bibliographic review: From this review, it is essential to present its advantages, which include: avoiding changes in maxillary and mandibular development, preserving the alveolar bone, maintaining vital periodontium, among others. Its indication is related not only to the patient's economic conditions, but also to aesthetics and function, requiring an analysis based on imaging exams, as well as the good condition of the transplanted tooth and the patient's general health. Thus, the viability of the periodontal ligament, proprioception and the preservation of the alveolar bone are maintained, so that the procedure itself and the postoperative period achieve the planned result. Final considerations: Autogenous Dental Transplantation (ADT), there was/is disagreement regarding its viability, because although it has advantages, such as the ability to restore esthetics and function, it also has disadvantages.
