Abordagem dos aspectos da Síndrome de Sjögren

Resumo
Objetivo: Analisar as características da Síndrome de Sjögren (SS). Revisão bibliográfica: A síndrome de Sjögren é uma doença autoimune crônica do tecido conjuntivo, que envolve glândulas exócrinas e que pode ser dividida em primária e secundária. A tríade de sintomas clínicos inclui sintomas de secura, fadiga e dor. Como doença sistêmica, a SS pode envolver praticamente qualquer sistema orgânico, levando a manifestações clínicas extremamente pleomórficas. A taxa de incidência de SS é de 6,92 por 100.000 pessoas por ano. Em relação ao impacto da SS na qualidade de vida, a doença afeta negativamente a atividade diária do paciente devido à alta prevalência de fadiga, depressão, ansiedade e diminuição do desempenho físico. Considerações finais: A SS é uma doença autoimune cujo os principais sintomas são: ceratoconjuntivite seca e xerostomia. Além disso, pode ter múltiplos acometimentos a nível sistêmico. Não existe um único teste para o seu diagnóstico e esta deve ser suspeitada em pacientes com sintomas persistentes de secura, aumento da glândula parótida além de aumento inexplicável de cáries dentárias. O tratamento é feito com sintomáticos nos casos sem envolvimento sistêmico e naqueles afetados sistêmicamente são tratados com imunossupressão.
