Características da relação entre fibromialgia e saúde do trato gastrointestinal

Resumo
Objetivo: Abordar a relação entre a Fibromialgia (FM) e saúde do trato gastrointestinal (TGI) e sua importância para o diagnóstico e tratamento da FM. Revisão bibliográfica: A FM é um quadro reumatológico caracterizado, principalmente, por dor crônica difusa. Outras manifestações possíveis envolvem fadiga, alteração do sono, acometimento cognitivo, distúrbios de humor e sintomas gastrointestinais. Existe uma relação muito próxima entre a FM e afecções gastrointestinais e o diagnóstico bem-feito, tal como a boa avaliação do paciente, são necessárias para alcançar o melhor resultado terapêutico possível. Considerações finais: Ainda que pouco elucidada, há uma estreita correlação entre a FM e o TGI. Portanto, é importante valorizar a sintomatologia e conhecer a relação bidirecional entre FM e afecções do TGI, sobretudo a síndrome do intestino irritável (SII). Contudo, necessitamos de mais estudos que explorem a etiopatogenia e a fisiopatologia da FM, tal como a influência do TGI nesses aspectos, para melhorar tanto o diagnóstico quanto o tratamento da FM.
