Abstract

Objective: To analyze immediate placement of dental implants published in the last five years. Methods: The main search was performed in June (2023), in the PubMed. Articles with available access and without language restrictions, were included. The selection of articles was carried out by two researchers. The following parameters were collected: authors, year of publication, study design, implant location, objective, and conclusion. Results: The initial search resulted in 785 documents, after applying the filters, 87 documents were identified, after reading the title, abstract and/or full text, 10 articles were selected. Among the selected articles, it was observed that the majority (40%) were published in the year 2021. Regarding the study design, systematic reviews added up to most studies (40%). The anterior region alone was the most prominent location for research on immediate dental implant placement (50%). The main objective of the selected studies was, in the great majority, to compare the immediate installation with the delayed installation of dental implants and to determine the success of the associated factors. Final considerations: Regardless of the conditions evaluated, the immediate implant installation showed a high rate of osseointegration.
