O impacto do uso de dispositivos de monitoramento contínuo de glicose no controle glicêmico e na qualidade de vida de pessoas vivendo com diabetes tipo 2

Resumo
Objetivo: Analisar o impacto do uso de dispositivos de monitoramento contínuo de glicose no controle glicêmico e na qualidade de vida de pessoas vivendo com diabetes tipo 2. Métodos: Por meio da plataforma de base de dados PubMed, foi realizada uma Revisão Integrativa, com o intento de localizar fontes relevantes para tal. A pesquisa foi realizada sob o uso dos descritores “Blood Glucose Self-Monitoring", “Continuous Glucose Monitoring”, “Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2" e "Diabetes Mellitus, Type 1", em associação aos operadores booleanos “AND” e "OR" e "NOT”, para a busca dos artigos, resultando em 853 artigos iniciais. Dentro desses números, devido aos critérios de inclusão e exclusão, apenas 23 foram selecionados. Resultados: Os estudos apontam estreita ligação entre o monitoramento contínuo de glicose e a redução do risco e da frequência de episódios de hipoglicemia e hiperglicemia, além de redução e/ou manutenção da HbA1c e prevenção da deterioração glicêmica em pacientes com DM2. Considerações Finais: O uso do monitoramento contínuo de glicose em pacientes com DM2 auxilia na regulação glicêmica, minimiza a incidência de episódios hiperglicêmicos e hipoglicêmicos e otimiza o estilo de vida do paciente, contudo não aparenta reduzir o desconforto geral causado pelo diabetes.
