Clinical-epidemiological aspects related to the delivery of twins in a hospital in the Feder-al District between 2020 and 2021

Abstract
Objective: To describe the epidemiological aspects of twin pregnancies during births occurring in a hospital in the Federal District, from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021 Methods:
an observational, cross-sectional and descriptive study, with retrospective collection of data from twin pregnancies with deliveries occurring in a hospital in the Federal District, between the period from January 2020 to December 2021. 68 pregnant women assisted in the period from 01/01/2020 to 12/31/2021 were included in the research; Twin pregnancy; Births occurring after the 24th week of pregnancy and births performed in a hospital in the Federal District. Results: It was observed that factors such as age over 30 years, prematurity and monitoring of high-risk pregnancies were factors directly correlated with maternal and perinatal problems in the pregnancy of twins, the impact of comorbidities in pregnancy is also highlighted. Conclusion: Therefore, twin pregnancy presents certain risks and complications that need to be taken into consideration during the process in order to guarantee a safe pregnancy.
