Consequências da privação de sono para a saúde mental

Resumo
Objetivo: Analisar os impactos da privação de sono sobre o surgimento de transtornos mentais e sobre o agravamento dos casos prevalentes. Métodos: Realizou-se uma revisão integrativa da literatura para responder à questão: “Quais as consequências da privação de sono para a saúde mental?” por meio de pesquisa nas bases de dados on-line MEDLINE, LILACS, SCIELO, Scopus e Webscience vinculadas à PUBMED e à BVS. Foi realizado o filtro dos estudos e das teses em inglês e em português publicados de 2018 a 2023, por meio de descritores como “Sono”, “Privação do Sono”, “Qualidade do Sono”, “Saúde Mental”, “Transtornos Mentais”, “Depressão”, “Ansiedade” e “Condições Sociais”, com o uso dos operadores booleanos “AND” e “OR”. Resultados: 20 artigos obedeceram aos critérios de inclusão e não foram excluídos, dentre os quais todos explicitaram que a privação do sono influencia negativamente na saúde mental. Considerações finais: A partir das informações reunidas, foi possível delimitar e facilitar a identificação dos perfis mais propensos à relação maléfica entre a falta de sono e os danos psicológicos, estimulando a elaboração de novos estudos que aprofundem nos mecanismos biológicos sobre o tema.
