Osteomielite crônica de mandíbula em criança

Resumo
Objetivo: Descrever o caso de uma criança com Osteomielite Crônica em Mandíbula, uma doença rara, que cursa com períodos de agudizações e tem necessidade de um longo tratamento, além de ser um desafio diagnóstico para pediatras e odontopediatras. O quadro pode cursar com assimetria facial, dor, transtornos físicos e psicológicos ao paciente, principalmente na infância. Detalhamento de caso: A criança necessitou de uso prolongado de antibióticos, além de intervenções cirúrgicas, até o diagnóstico final de Osteomielite Esclerosante Difusa, associado a uma Tendoperiostite Crônica. A partir de um atendimento multiprofissional, ainda em andamento, mantém estabilidade clínica com tratamento conservador, baseado em analgésicos e anti-inflamatórios. Considerações finais: O diagnóstico e o tratamento da Osteomielite Crônica de Mandíbula são desafiadores aos profissionais de saúde. O trabalho relata uma experiência bem-sucedida em que a paciente teve melhora clínica importante e segue em acompanhamento para controle da doença.
