O impacto das mídias sociais na promoção de saúde bucal de adolescentes

Resumo

Objetivo: Mapear, avaliar e sintetizar o estado atual das evidências disponíveis a respeito da influência das mídias sociais na promoção de saúde bucal de adolescentes. Métodos:  Essa revisão de escopo foi fundamentada em cinco bases de dados, nas quais se utilizaram os descritores: ‘adolescents’, ‘social media’, ‘oral health’ e derivações associados aos operadores booleanos AND e OR. Foram incluídos artigos que respondiam exclusivamente à questão norteadora da pesquisa, excluindo aqueles duplicados e que não se adequaram a temática. A pesquisa foi registrada no Open Science Framework (OSF). Resultados: Inicialmente foram identificados 271 artigos, restando 9 que atendiam plenamente aos critérios de elegibilidade. Foram observados estudos realizados em 4 continentes contemplando a faixa etária entre 10 a 24 anos, os trabalhos avaliaram o impacto das mídias sociais em diferentes contextos sendo esses cárie dentária, literacia e orientação de higienização. Considerações finais:  As publicações apontam interação frequente dos adolescentes com as mídias sociais. Portanto, essas podem representar uma alternativa em educação e promoção de saúde bucal para a população de adolescentes. Entretanto, futuros estudos são necessários como forma de validar seus benefícios. Para isso, faz-se necessária a implementação de ações utilizando mídias sociais com essa finalidade.
