Manifestações orais em pacientes acometidos pela COVID-19

Resumo
Objetivo: Avaliar as manifestações clínicas orais identificadas em pacientes positivados com COVID-19, sejam elas relacionadas a infecção viral ou efeito secundário do tratamento, através de um levantamento bibliográfico. Métodos: A metodologia adotada consistiu em uma revisão integrativa da literatura, fundamentada em pesquisas realizadas em bases de dados renomadas, tais como Pubmed/Medline e Google Scholar. Foram empregadas estratégias de busca e critérios pré-estabelecidos, utilizando como descritores: Coronavírus, Odontologia, Manifestações bucais e Mucosa Bucal. Resultados: A pesquisa identificou diversas manifestações orais comuns em pacientes diagnosticados com COVID-19, incluindo disgeusia, xerostomia e lesões ulcerativas. Além disso, foi observada uma associação entre higiene bucal deficiente e agravamento da doença, com estudos indicando uma alta prevalência de alterações bucais em casos graves. O tratamento das lesões orais envolveu o uso de medicamentos específicos e práticas de higiene adequadas, destacando-se o papel fundamental dos profissionais odontológicos na identificação e manejo dessas manifestações, que podem servir como indicadores de infecção por COVID-19. Considerações Finais: Diante do atual cenário da COVID-19, há a necessidade de estudos mais detalhados, que irão servir como um instrumento de auxílio aos profissionais de saúde em consultórios, bem como aos profissionais de outras instituições hospitalares.
