Avanços e perspectivas no tratamento da Síndrome de Tourette

Resumo

Objetivo: Compreender os principais avanços no tratamento da Síndrome de Tourette (ST), englobando as terapias farmacológicas e não farmacológica, nos últimos 5 anos. Métodos: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa, realizada a partir de buscas nas bases de dados Publisher Medline (PubMed), Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO) e Medical Literature Analysis and Retrievel System Online (MEDLINE), entre os anos de 2018 e 2023, utilizando descritores “Síndrome de Tourette” e “Tratamento” e suas traduções no inglês, com o uso do operador booleano AND. Resultados: 31 artigos foram selecionados para representar a amostra final e compor a revisão, por se adequarem aos critérios de inclusão e exclusão, nos quais a farmacoterapia, a estimulação cerebral profunda e a terapia comportamental se mostraram protagonistas no tratamento da síndrome. Considerações finais: Constatou-se que os fármacos valproato de sódio, tiaprida e priavanserina e a estimulação cerebral profunda podem ser usados para diminuir os sintomas motores dos pacientes, e que a terapia comportamental é uma ferramenta eficaz e necessária para a diminuição da gravidade e o controle dos tiques.
