Transtornos neurológicos pós-COVID-19

Resumo

Objetivo: Descrever as principais manifestações neurológicas relacionadas a COVID-19. Revisão bibliográfica: Evidências cada vez mais sólidas demonstram o caráter multissistêmico da COVID-19, que é causada pelo SARS-CoV-2, destacando-se os mais diversos transtornos neurológicos que se manifestam na forma de síndromes (demencial, parkinsoniana, epiléptica, motora, amnésica, comportamentais, dentre outras). Além disso, estudos destacam as manifestações neurológicas com maior prevalência, tais como pode-se listar como mais prevalentes associadas ao Sistema Nervoso Central (SNC) as cefaleias, vertigens, crise epiléptica, alteração de consciência, ataxias e doença cerebrovascular aguda, ainda, doenças relacionadas ao sistema nervoso periférico (SNP) como distúrbios sensoriais, déficit no paladar, olfato, visão e além de quadros de dor. Considerações finais: Considerando as complicações neurológicas associadas à COVID-19, é fundamental reconhecer que o vírus SARS-CoV-2 não apenas afeta o sistema respiratório, mas também pode ter impactos significativos no sistema nervoso central e periférico. Estudos e relatos clínicos têm documentado uma variedade de manifestações neurológicas em pacientes com COVID-19, desde sintomas leves, como dor de cabeça e tontura, até complicações mais graves, como encefalopatia, acidente vascular cerebral (AVC), encefalite e síndrome de Guillain-Barré.
