Aspectos clínicos do periodonto de mulheres e sua associação com a gravidez

Resumo

Objetivo: O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar os aspectos clínicos do periodonto de mulheres e verificar sua associação com a gravidez. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo observacional transversal com 40 participantes sendo que 20 mulheres em puerpério imediato e 20 mulheres que nunca engravidaram. As participantes foram submetidas a questionário socioeconômico e a um exame clínico periodontal em boca para a obtenção dos parâmetros profundidade de sondagem (PS) e nível de inserção clínica (NIC). As variáveis categóricas foram analisadas por meio dos testes Exato de Fisher e nas variáveis numéricas, o teste de Mann Whitney foi empregado. O nível de significância adotado foi de 5%. O estudo foi aprovado por Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa. Resultados: As puérperas apresentaram predomínio da cor da pele preta/parda (75%) e 90% apresentaram o ensino fundamental/ensino médio. Houve diferenças significativas quanto à cor da pele (p= 0.0248), escolaridade (p = 0.0001), renda mensal familiar (p = 0.0036), situação conjugal (p < 0.0001) e quantidade de sítios com NIC≥3mm (p=0,0072). Conclusão: As puérperas mostraram possuir nível socioeconômico mais baixo, escolaridade inferior e apresentaram piores índices clínicos periodontais, com maiores perdas de inserção clínica.
