Os impactos da ansiedade nos acadêmicos de medicina do Brasil

Resumo

Objetivo: Descrever a prevalência da ansiedade em acadêmicos de Medicina no Brasil. Revisão bibliográfica: Define-se ansiedade como o medo patológico de eventos futuros, ou seja, que estão fora da capacidade de controle do indivíduo, visto que só se pode interferir com ações em algo que acontece no momento presente. Além disso, na ansiedade generalizada, esse medo não possui um único objeto como foco, mas sim múltiplos temas que trazem mais complexidade ao quadro. Nos subtipos dos transtornos de ansiedade, há um direcionamento mais específico da emoção, como a agorafobia (cuja preocupação se centra na aversão a lugares abertos) ou a ansiedade por separação (cujo sofrimento advém pela ideia da separação entre o indivíduo afetado e algo ou alguém). Considerações finais: Ao iniciar a jornada universitária os estudantes de Medicina submetem-se a novos desafios que podem levá-los a um desgaste emocional, tornando-os suscetíveis ao surgimento ou agravamento da ansiedade. Dessa forma, observou-se que o estado de saúde mental está diretamente associado a aspectos como a presença ou não de resiliência, motivação, estratégias de aprendizado e chance de desistência.
