Fotobiomodulação para tratamento de mucosite oral em paciente infantojuvenil com síndrome de down e leucemia linfoblástica aguda

Resumo
Objetivo: Relatar o caso clínico com uso da Fotobiomodulação (FBM) no tratamento de mucosite oral (MO) em uma paciente de 15 anos, com síndrome de Down (SD) e leucemia linfóide aguda (LLA), diagnosticada com LLA, o tratamento realizado e conclusão do caso. Detalhamento do Caso: Paciente branca, sexo feminino, 15 anos, diagnosticada com LLA e em tratamento quimioterápico com metotrexato em altas doses, desenvolveu MO, manifestando lesões orais dolorosas que dificultavam a alimentação. Como tratamento iniciou-se a terapia com FBM, ajustando a abordagem conforme a colaboração variável da paciente. Após algumas sessões, observou-se uma melhora significativa na cicatrização das lesões e na redução da dor, permitindo a retomada da alimentação oral sem desconforto significativo. Considerações Finais: A experiência clínica observada neste estudo sublinha a relevância e importância de se utilizar a FBM como uma intervenção valiosa para o manejo da MO em pacientes vulneráveis, incluindo também pacientes com SD e em tratamento quimioterápico.
