Seletividade alimentar de crianças com Transtorno do Espectro Autista

Resumo

Objetivo: Explorar como o Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA) influencia nas restrições alimentares de crianças com essa condição. Métodos: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura com caráter qualitativo. Foram incluídos estudos, publicados no período de 2013 até 2023, utilizando os descritores: autismo, alimentação, crianças; autism and children and feeding; alimentação TEA crianças. Possuindo como critérios de exclusão estudos que não dissertaram sobre as restrições alimentares, os hábitos nutricionais e o estilo de vida de crianças com transtorno do espectro autista foram excluídos. Resultados: Foram selecionados 24 artigos relevantes e com metodologias acuradas, os quais, em sua totalidade, demonstraram crianças com seletividade alimentar em virtude do TEA, majoritariamente relacionada à consistência dos alimentos. Observou-se que tais crianças apresentaram certa predileção por determinadas classes de alimentos, o que resultou em comportamentos familiares típicos e na necessidade de abordagens profissionais externas. Considerações finais: Mais da metade dos estudos relataram predileção nas escolhas alimentares por carboidratos ou açúcares. Detectou-se que há predominância de estresse, angústia e preocupação nos pais. Tratamento Comportamental Interdisciplinar Intensivo e dietas especiais e diferenciadas para repor os níveis nutricionais foram as abordagens mais frequentes frente aos entraves relacionados à seletividade alimentar das crianças com TEA.
