Alterações cognitivas e do sono na síndrome pós-COVID-19

Resumo

Objetivos: Avaliar as principais alterações na cognição e no sono em pacientes com síndrome pós-COVID-19. Métodos: Estudo analítico transversal. Foram avaliados 51 pacientes, maiores de 18 anos com síndrome pós-COVID-19 com queixas cognitivas e do sono através de um formulário autoral e de questionários validados para cognição (MoCA e MoCA-B) e para o sono (Escala de sonolência de Epworth, Índice de qualidade do sono de Pittsburgh, Questionário de perturbação do sono e Índice de gravidade de insônia). Resultados: Na amostra avaliada predominou o sexo feminino (80,4%), com idade de 59,9 anos apresentando gravidade da COVID-19 leve (52,9%). As queixas neurocognitivas (90,2%) e do sono (96,1%) foram prevalentes, ocorrendo independentemente da gravidade da doença. Na cognição predominou alterações na memória de curto prazo e no sono, a sonolência e a fadiga. Nos testes MoCA e MoCA-B, 81,57% apresentaram comprometimento cognitivo leve. Os testes de sono mostraram impactos na qualidade e quantidade de sono, sem correlação significante entre os testes de distúrbios do sono e os de cognição agrupados. Conclusão: Os impactos na cognição e no sono na síndrome pós-COVID-19 devem ser foco de atenção das equipes de saúde que realizam intervenções nesta população pois são prevalentes e podem ocasionar prejuízos biopsicossociais.
