Efeitos periodontais associados ao uso de facetas dentárias

Resumo

Objetivo: Realizar uma revisão integrativa de literatura e para sua realização foi elaborada a pergunta norteadora: “Quais os efeitos das facetas dentárias sobre o periodonto adjacente?”. Métodos: Para a busca foram utilizadas as bases de dados Pubmed, Scielo, BVS e Google Acadêmico, utilizando as seguintes palavras-chaves e paradamente e/ou em combinação:dentalveneers, laminate venners, porcelain, ceramic, gingival health, periodontium effects e periodontitis. Foram incluídos trabalhos publicados entre 2013 e 2023, com os descritores citados, na língua inglesa, portuguesa, francesa e espanhola. Foram incluídos estudos em humanos, estudos clínicos randomizados e não randomizados, estudos clínicos prospectivos e retrospectivos e estudos coorte. Os critérios de exclusão foram: teses, monografias, capítulos de livro, revisões de literatura e revisões sistemáticas. Resultados: Ao final, 12 artigos foram o objeto dessa revisão. Considerações finais: O uso de facetas dentárias cerâmicas é um método com resultados clínicos e estéticos previsíveis, maspode ocasionalmente causar inflamação, acúmulo de placa, sangramento, gengivite e recessão gengival. Manter a saúde periodontal é possível com o acompanhamento e controle do dentista, que deve possuir um conhecimento profundo dos benefícios e desvantagens desse tratamento.
