Signs and symptoms associated with musculoskeletal diseases in workers of a forestry company with forestry services

Abstract
Objective: Identify the signs and symptoms associated with musculoskeletal diseases that foresters of a forestry company are exposed. Methods: This is a cross-sectional, descriptive and population-based cohort study with 26 forest workers. As a data collection instrument, information on the socioeconomic and demographic profile, questionnaires of the research, validated in Brazil and widely used in field of occupational health. Results: The results showed that the prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms, such as tingling, pain, numbness in the last 12 months, was found in 46% of the interviewed sample, forest workers reported pain in more than one region of the body in a year, being the regions of the body most affected: the upper and lower regions of the back, followed by the neck, shoulders, hands and wrists. Conclusion: It was concluded that forestry workers are predisposed to work-related musculoskeletal diseases (DORT), and should be aware of the dangers of working practices that affect health, as well as the adoption of appropriate body postures in the course of work.
